Under the supervision of the Marketing & Communications Director, the Senior Public Relations Specialist develops and handles marketing and communication projects from concept to execution and distribution. Specific duties include:
Create quarterly PR strategy to highlight targeted programs and services Interface with physicians to proactively pitch and place stories about hospital and patient care Write public relations materials including press releases, patient testimonials for website, marketing materials, media pitches and social media sites Garner media coverage for special events. Handle onsite media visits Develop relationships with news media contacts Maintain knowledge of local news outlets and regional/national media Develop and generate content for physician blogs Work in conjunction with outside vendors to develop videos of medical staff and patients to use on the website and social media sites Support crisis communications in conjunction with corporate communications center Coordinate media events including press conferences and service line program launches Service line support: Per annual business plan, support two assigned service lines encompassing all marketing and communication efforts Handles PR after-hours on call (evening and weekend) on a rotating basis Other duties as assigned

Background in healthcare or hospital industry preferred.

Competence with computer hardware and software, especially office-related software (i.e. MS Office)
