Job Summary: The Echo Technologist performs a wide variety of diagnostic cardiovascular ultrasound stu! dies as a diagnostic aide to the medical staff. The studies are performed both within the Department and also on a portable basis. The studies are not only provided within departmental hours, but also may be done upon physician request on an on-call basis. An Echo Technologists must have a workable knowledge of the equipment being used and to know its' practical application technique as applied to patients. The Echo Technologists must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to assess, treat, and care for patients according to age specific needs.
Job Requirements: Four years of college with a science background, or a minimum of two years in a recognized allied health profession or equivalent experience in the medical field. Certified or registered in Adult and/or Pediatric Echocardiography. Recent grads from an Echocardiography program or those individuals who are registry eligible must obtain RDCS or CCI credential within two (2) years of hire.
