Brief Description

Department: Ambulance Service
Status: Full Time
Shift: 80 hours every two weeks
Job Summary: Provides emergency medical treatment for patients in pre-! hospital care settings.
Job Responsibilities: Prioritizes medical procedures needed on site and en route to hospital.
Administers life support care to sick or injured patients as directed by physician.
Documents activities to ensure that appropriate information is available regarding each call.
Performs required vehicle inspections at the beginning of each shift.
Provides extensive Prehospital care by administering drugs orally and intravenously, interpreting EKG'S and using complex equipment.
Education:
Completion of a formal EMS training program.
Requirements/Licensure:
Pennsylvania certified Paramedic
Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC)
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Valid Driver’s License
Preferred:
Trauma Life Support
HAZ-MAT certification
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Registration with National Registry o! f Emergency Medical Technicians/Paramedic as required by state
