***Independent Representative/1099 Contractor***

Commission based only. 20% of Net Sales.

You have been in the Eye Care or Pediatrics healthcare markets all your career selling devices and consumables. You need a new challenge? Come work for a fast growing Medical Device manufacturer dedicated to vision screening using binocular handheld auto-refractors for babies, children, and uncooperative patients since 2001!

The purpose of a Plusoptix Vision Screening device is to empower primary health care providers to detect most prevalent vision disorders in children as early as possible. The earlier a vision disorder is detected the better it can be treated!

You will be responsible for selling Plusoptix products primarily to Pediatricians and occasionally to Eye care professionals (Optometrists and Pediatric Ophthalmologists) in your state. You will develop and execute sales plan based upon sales and marketing strategy developed with the CEO.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties :

  • Attain and exceed sales objectives for a designated territory.
  • Generate new acc ounts by using personal initiative and resources, industry contacts and sales.
  • Maintain previously established accounts by working closely with hospitals and various Plusoptix departments to ensure that only the best product and customer service are provided.
  • Develop and execute a sales strategy for a designated territory that incorporates all available resources for the attainment of unit and dollar objectives.
  • Provide market research and strategic input to entire sales and marketing team for all current and new products: pricing, positioning, customer targeting, key feature requirements, and key marketing program requirements.
  • Works well with customer service manager and technical service managers.
  • Establish a good relationship with co-workers in all departments.
  • Provide input for effective promotional campaigns and sales materials.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as appropriate to this position and/or additional du ties assigned by management.

Secondary Responsibilities and Duties :

  • Frequent travel required to customer sites, trade shows.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the software application environment currently in use in the market segment, competition. Demonstrating the ability to clearly understand and communicate software features to customers and Company team members as they relate to the pediatric eye care institutional environment.
  • Establish a good working relationship with other department heads to facilitate better communication between departments that interact with Sales.

Experience, Education, Training, Skills, Traits :

  • College Degree with preferably emphasis on eye care, optics.
  • Strong sales background with traceable results and market development skills. Experience in Pediatrics preferred
  • Two years of medical capital equipment sales experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong personal presence.
  • Self-starter and well organized.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills/success.
  • Ambitious and assertive in the context of having a major sales impact in the assigned territory, as well as playing a major role within the Plusoptix team.
  • Experience in the pediatric ophthalmology and/or Eye Care field strongly desired.

Compensation: Commission only

Special Demands

State Travel â€" 50%+ - Must live close to a major airport.

Lifting demonstration cases that can weigh 10 â€" 20 pounds each.

Home office based - Western region.

Language and Verbal Skills

Individual must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and professionally. Must have clear, confident oral presentation skills.

Travel Requirements

Limited travel required to trade shows, work shops and Special events. This is a high profile position that is privy to confidential information; the highest level of discretion, integrity and professionalism is needed at all times.
