- Registered nurse license in state(s) with jurisdiction over practice location.
- Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing degree, from an NLNAC-CCNE accredited program.
- Master’s of Science in Nursing degree, from an accredited program (preferred).
- 5 years of pediatric clinical experience.
- International experience and/or expertise are highly preferred.
- Utilization and/or case management experience preferred.
- Fluency in a second language is highly preferred.
- Broad pediatric clinical knowledge is required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills necessary.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to negotiate diplomatically.
- Ability to work effectively with all departments and all levels of CHOP professionals and with international families and their representatives.
- Basic knowledge of IS/IT systems is required including ability to use MS Word, Excel.
- Must be very organized and able to work independently.
- Ability to work collaboratively through consultation with other health care providers
- Ability to coordinate and implement multiple tasks simultaneously
- Critical analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to understand and summarize clinical records, laboratory and radiographic data.
- Excellent customer service orientation and strong interpersonal skills.
Job Description:
The Clinical Coordinator of the International Patient Program is a member of the International Patient Program team and works closely with the Clinical Manager. The Coordinator collaborates regularly with the physicians, clinicians and administrators from multiple Divisions and Departments at CHOP while serving international patients. The Clinician Coordinator provides case coordination and management support to the International Medicine staff for ongoing care of international patients. The Clinical Coordinator also works with international clients, families, patients and their representatives as directed by the Clinical Manager.
In this role, the Clinical Coordinator provides support to the ongoing operational and monitoring activities of the International Patient Program which is responsible for facilitating the delivery of excellent and timely pediatric health services for international patients and families. The Clinical Coordinator is integrated into patient services by offering clinical summaries of medical records and coordination of consulting services during clinical case reviews and evaluation requests from international families. The Coordinator ensures efficiency in the operational process.
The Clinical Coordinator also provides some case management services as necessary and directed in support of complex international patients who require ongoing review and coordination of services, case summaries, coordination of DME, outpatient pharmacy services, financial summaries, etc. The Clinical Coordinator will be responsible for generating reports regarding individual cases and collaborating with other departments or agencies as directed by the Clinical Manager.
