Location: Williamsport, Pennsylvania

Description: Susquehanna Health is at present looking to employ RN/Hospital Tier III right now, this position will be dwelled in Pennsylvania. The Registered Nurse will utilize professional nursing theory and the nursing process to implement, coordinate, and direct patient care and ancillary nursing care activities. This professional will demonstrate competence in administering these responsibilities in accordance with nursing standards of care, code of conduct, organizational policies/ procedures and age-specific requirements for each individual patient. This professional nurse will possess skill and competence acquired after a minimum of two years work in acute care in preparation for clinical patient assignments in the following areas: a) Medical/Surgical Units on all campuses b) Critical Care (ICU and CVSU) c) Step-down Unit d) Post Anesthesia Care Unit on all campuses e) Phase One Anesthesia Recovery in Endoscopy f) Holding Area in Peri-operative Services g) Same Day Services on all campuses h) Emergency Department Triage and Urgi-center at MVH and TWH and MC i)Inpatient Behavioral Health j) Post Partum and k) Pediatrics. This professional nurse will possess competence and skill in areas defined within an 8-week orientation period provided. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: This professional, registered nurse will demonstrate skill in the application and modification of principles, methods, and techniques of professional nursing and the nursing process in the management of patient care. Skill in identifying problems and aberrations in patient progress that will include the recommendation and documentation of appropriate solutions and interventions. Understands his/her professional responsibility to assure quality and safety for patients, staff, and families. Demonstrates calm reaction to emergency situations and implementation of effective management in emergency patient care situations. Must be able to communicate clearly, read and speak using the English language. Must demonstrate proper use of English grammar and spelling in written or electronic communications. Must demonstrate skill establishing effective team dynamics as well as the ability to influence and delegate appropriately to members of the health care team. Applies processes to continually improve patient care by utilizing evidence and data to outcomes and goals. Understands his/her role in building and sustaining effective working relationships with staff, managers, physicians, patients, and families. Maintains a professional image and demonstrates principled customer service skills in all aspects of his/her role. Education: Graduate of an NLN accredited school of nursing. Commitment to professional development through formal course work and continuing education credit opportunities. Experience: Minimum of two years of experience as a licensed professional nurse in an acute care setting. Critical Care experience preferred. License/Certification/Registration: Current, valid Registered Nurse license for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania . Within the first 90 days of employment, must obtain a current and valid card for completion of the American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course. Maintains current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) card, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) card. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Requires heavy lifting up to 40 pounds by self, and up to 100 pounds with assistance. Requires corrected and color vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours. Requires some exposure to bodily fluids and/or communicable diseases.
