The ideal candidate will have a Masterâs degree in Nutrition, Psychology, Public Health, Health Education or related degree wi! th a minimum of 2 years clinical research experience, preferably in Pediatric Obesity. PhD preferred. Candidate will have statistical training and data analyses experience. Skills & Abilities: ⢠Proficiency in statistical analyses and statistical programs. ⢠Ability to work well with faculty, research team, patients, families and program staff. ⢠Ability to creatively solve problems. ⢠Excellent written and verbal communication. ⢠Hard working, enthusiastic, efficient and dependable. ⢠Ability to learn the necessary research methodology. ⢠Proficient computer skills and with Microsoft Office Suite â" experience with Access databases required. ⢠Experience using standard statistical software packages. ⢠Experience using Redcap preferred. Job Description:
The Childrenâs Hospital of Philadelphia is an institution dedicated to conducting basic, clinical and translational research on conditions and diseases that affect children, and is part of the University of Pennsylvania research community. The Healthy Weight Program advances the prevention and treatment of childhood obesity through initiatives such as clinical care and research. The Healthy Weight Program at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator II. The Clinical Research Coordinator II oversees research activities pertinent to the Healthy Weight Clinic, related to the clinical database, research registry, informed consent process, regulatory approval, program evaluation, outreach activities, and coordination of program resources. A brief summary of job tasks and responsibilities are: Collect patient care information from clinic visits for tracking and analyses. Obtain approval and! establish a HWP clinical registry with Institutional Review Board approval. Conduct evaluation activities to assess program outcomes of the HWP. This involves collecting, organizing, compiling and analyzing clinical data to assess outcomes. Identification or development of survey tools may be also included. Develop, update, maintain and query the HWP clinical databases. This includes data synthesis for clinical outcomes reporting, research abstract and paper development and conference presentations. Responsible for assisting with grant identification, application, submission, implementation and compliance reporting, including coordination with CHOP Research Institute, IRB, Clinical and Translational Research Center, etc. Assist with program outreach activities, such as preparation and attendance at outreach events and health fairs, as well as for working with various collaborators, both internal and external to CHOP. Assist in the development and assembly of HWP programmat! ic resources, including educational, website, and other content for use! within the program including overseeing health literacy process. Conduct research to identify possible materials for inclusion and help organize and distribute resources. Monitor policy changes and guidelines and other up-to-date information regarding childhood obesity that has clinical impact. This includes communicating local, state and national policy changes to HWP team, disseminating relevant scholarly articles in obesity and public health, and other relevant Pediatric Obesity updates.
