Description

The Department of Medicine is looking for a dedicated Staff Research Associate II to join our research team. We focus on understanding autoimmune aspects of cancer immunotherapies and their impact on tumor efficacy. This position requires skills in basic science and clinical translational research, including immunology and molecular biology techniques. Responsibilities include DNA, RNA, and protein isolation, flow cytometry, qRT-PCR, PCR, and immunohistochemistry. You'll also be involved in in vivo mouse immune therapy experiments, managing a mouse colony, tumor inoculation, and assessing tumors and autoimmune phenotypes. Lab organization and maintenance assistance is expected. Optional involvement in recruiting and enrolling subjects for clinical trials. Target hourly rate: $27.09-$43.58

Qualifications

Required: * General knowledge of immunology and molecular biology. * Good work ethic, communication skills and ability to work well independently or as a part of a group. * Understanding of University procedures and policies for ordering and biohazard, radioactive and chemical waste disposal. * Working knowledge of the microscope and basic laboratory equipments (centrifuge, incubators, spectrophotometer, PCR, Q-PCR). * Skill in using MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. * Excellent skills in problem solving and data analysis, organization and presentation. * General knowledge of chemistry and meticulous preparation of reagents. Preferred: * BS in Molecular Biology, Molecular Genetics, Immunology, and Microbiology, or similar. * Experienced in working with mice and ARC certified to work with mice.
