Summary:
The Intake Screener independently manages inquiries, performs admission assessments, and provide information to individuals seeking services offered at Rogers Behavioral Health-Schaumburg, IL location.
Schedule: In addition to a weekly schedule, incumbents will participate in the On-Call, weekend, and holiday schedule.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete Admission assessments with potential patients and/or their representatives.
- Demonstrate understanding and explanation of admitting processes.
- Understand clinical criteria necessary for admission to Rogers’ programs.
- Describe levels of care within Rogers to potential patients and/or their representatives.
- Gather demographic and insurance information of potential patients and/or responsible representatives.
- Connect potential patients and/or their representative with outside resources when indicated.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external facilities/referents as it relates access to care.
Education/Training Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health or human services field required, Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in healthcare admissions or patient access, preferred.
- Completion of required trainings under Rogers’ policies.
- Electronic medical record software experience, preferred.
- General health insurance knowledge, preferred.
- Computer skills (including but not limited to: utilizing multiple platforms, Microsoft applications, basic troubleshooting) required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology
