Registered Nurse Extended Hours
Location: Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania
Description: Family Hospice & Palliative Care is hiring Registered Nurse Extended Hours right now, this job will be settled in Pennsylvania. For detail informations about this job opportunity kindly read the description below. Provides personal care services to patients within guidelines of the interdisciplinary group care plan.
Principal Duties
1. Provides essential pers! onal care assistance to patients through bathing, oral hygiene, assisting with toileting, ambulation, and transfers and change of bed linen.
2. Assesses patientâs health status by taking vital signs and observing for signs of discomfort. Reports any changes in patientâs condition or family situation to the RN.
3. Provides emotional support and compassionate care to the terminally ill patient and family.
4. Maintains a continuing and confidential record of patient care, conforming with regulations, agency policies, and department procedures. The documentation is completed in a timely manner.
5. Participates in the weekend rotation, serving patients when needed on scheduled weekends.
6. Maintains required competency and skills by attending at least 12 hours of continuing education programs per year, along with related agency in-services.
7. Practices Universal Precautions according to Infection Control protocols.
S econdary Duties
1. Increases personal knowledge! base and develops skills through attendance at mandatory in services, seminars, conferences and professional competency programs, through literature review and by networking with other team members and professional organizations.
Note: Performs principal and secondary duties in compliance with professional and ethical standards of hospice nursing practice consistent with applicable laws and FHPC requirements.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and listening.
Strong time management skills to arrange and implement daily work schedule.
Flexibility and adaptability to changing work conditions, patient care requirements, etc.

Basic mathematical skills, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
! Community aides travel extensively (100%) and must have a reliable, insured vehicle and acceptable driverâs record
Minimum of one year two years of clinical experience performing direct patient care services including invasive procedures and developing therapeutic programs preferred. Hospice experience preferred.
Experience/Education Requirements
1. Current PA Nursing Aide PA certification;
2. Minimum one year of related experience. Hospice experience preferred.
3. Ability to operate the following the following or similar machinery and equipment: Blood pressure cuff, stethoscope, car, Hoyer lift and all health care related equipment.
4. Knowledge of Suncoast or similar technology to process patient notes, progress reports and records preferred.
5. CPR certification including adult one-person rescue, adult two-person rescue, pediatric CPR and to free both adult and pediatric obstructed airways.
6. Com! munity aides must have a valid driverâs license void of DUIs, major d! riving convictions or suspensions or revocations within the last seven years or three moving violations in the last three years and must have a reliable, insured vehicle.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to:
Community Aides are required to travel extensively (approximately 100%) in personal vehicle in all weather conditions to perform home health care visits.
The work environment may include risk of exposure to communicable and infectious diseases, blood borne pathogens, bodily fluids, and with toxic, harmful, or potentially hazardous compounds, solutions, and medications which requires the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) such as: safety eyeglasses, face shield, surgical mask, gloves and/or gowns.
Community Aides are exposed to potentially hazardous and unsafe home environments. (Does not need to work in these conditions but may be exposed.)
Perform work of a moderately physical nature including exerting up to 10 pounds of force frequently and up to 75 pounds occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Ability to see, hear, talk and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity; kneeling, frequent standing, walking, crouching, stooping, reaching and other similar tasks requiring physical activity.
Operate a computer, copier, fax and telephone and other office equipment, as well as Blood pressure cuff, stethoscope, car, Hoyer lift and all health care related equipment.
Work hours in excess of the regular work schedule as needed.
