Facilitate the development, conduct, quality assurance, and evaluation of clinical trials
Primary responsibility to the Developmental Therapeutics Team for the clinical care and care coordination of children enrolled on clinical research trials
Collaborate with the Developmental Therapeutics Research study team, the Pharmacy Investigational Drug Services (IDS), ensuring Investigational Agents are ordered according to the protocol
Initiation and coordination of the clinical trials according to regulatory and institutional guidelines and requirements.
Prescribe medications and write orders for investigation drugs, chemotherapy, supportive care medications, and sedation, in collaboration with study physicians
Perform the following procedures: blood drawing, administration of investigational medications, bone marrow aspirate, bone marrow biopsy, lumbar punctures +/- administration of intrathecal chemothe! rapy.
Developmental Therapeutics:
Support ! the Developmental Therapeutics Research Team (35%)
Lead and Coordinate Osteosarcoma Study (25%)
Children’s Oncology Group Nurse Practitioner Liaison (15%)
Protocol Support Office (25%)
Qualifications:
National Certification as a Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (ACPNP)
Master’s degree from an NLNAC and/or CCNE accredited graduate school of nursing in a Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program.
Minimum of 2 years clinical experience and two years of research experience.
Working knowledge of Oncology
Understanding of Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and FDA Regulations
