Job Summary:
The diabetes educator provides diabetes education to patients with diabetes mellitus and their families. Additional expert! ise in nutritional counseling is preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
Able to handle multiple projects. Demonstrates ability to listen effectively and communicate verbally and in writing. Able to make sound, reasonable judgments using analytical and problem-solving approaches. Demonstrates knowledge of patient/family outcome management. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psychological, developmental, social, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served in their service area.
Qualifications
Training & Education:
Prior diabetes educator experience and certification in diabetes education required.
Experience in nutritional counseling and certification preferred
Strong customer service skills required
May require to take on-call
Experience:
Minimum two years of diabetes education with! demonstrated clinical competence.
