Under the direction of the Patient Services Manager, the van driver is to provide reliable and courteous transportation service to patients with safety a top priority and to maintain vehicle and customer records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Operate assigned vehicle in a safe and courteous manner;
2) Maintain defensive driving;
3) Provide a communication link between customers and staff
4) Assist passengers, including handicapped, in and out of the vehicle; operates ramp and lift as needed;
5) Read and interpret maps and driving directions to plan the most efficient route service for patients,
6) Keep the assigned vehicle clean inside and outside;
7) Maintain accurate, up-to-date records on trip sheets, patient transportation forms, vehicle maintenance, fuel purchases, incident reports, accident reports, and other records that are requested from management;
8) Fuel the assigned vehicle adequately;
9) Coordinate the schedule for major or periodic vehicle maintenance with management.
10) Serve as T.H.E. Clinic ambassador while providing transportation service.
11) Provide coverage for Patient Service Representatives as needed.
12) Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
- High School grad or equivalent
- Certification in CPR
- A valid California Driver’s License with the ability to drive a multi-passenger vehicle.
- An acceptable safe driving record per insurance standards.
- Ability to work with people of diverse cultural, educational, social, and economic backgrounds
- Ability to prepare concise and accurate records and reports.
- Ability to recognize vehicle maintenance needs.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Experience utilizing an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system is highly desirable
- Computer proficiency
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
