More details about this occupation opportunity please read the description below. Milton Hershey School is currently seeking a part-time School Nurse . This positio! n will be responsible for assessing the health status of the students in the identification and prevention of diseases; providing healthcare for students, including proper documentation and ensuring confidentiality; promoting health teaching in the advancement of health/medical programs; integrating healthcare for students; utilizing the resources within the MHS community; maintaining personal/professional accountability by adhering to the state mandates, MHS standing orders and policies/procedures in providing quality healthcare; ensuring employee health programs to improve and protect employee health; and striving to maintain and provide healthcare and programs that are "child-centered" and consistent with the vision/mission of Student Health Services.
The shift/schedule for this position will vary based on departmental needs and will work up to 29 hours per week. The ability to have a flexible schedule is essential for this position. Bargaining unit position wit! h MHEA.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in! nursing..
Minimum 1 (one) year nursing experience.
Valid license to practice as a registered nurse in PA.
Physical assessment, emergency nursing, counseling and health teaching skills.
Ability to function as an interdisciplinary team member.
Sound decision-making skills.
Current CPR certification and advanced first aid training.
Experience in primary pediatric, school health and/or public health nursing.
Must demonstrate high level of integrity, as all MHS staff are considered to be role models for the MHS students.
Preferred Qualifications:
School Nurse Certification.
Spanish fluency a plus.
