UPMC Horizon is hiring a Casual Horizon Instructor to help support the Educational Services Department for its UPMC Horizon - Greenville location. This position is casual to assit in teaching ACLS, PALS and BLS to staf! f on an as needed basis.
Responsibilities
Demonstrates a thorough and accurate knowledge of field or discipline.
Displays an ability to explain the theories or concepts of their field or discipline.
Develops meaningful learning objectives.
Selects instructional methods appropriate for topic and learning objectives.
Plans and organizes instruction in ways that maximize student learning.
Evaluates student learning and makes revisions to improve achievement of objectives.
Stays current in subject matter through professional development and attending meetings, conferences or workshops.
Teaches classes as assigned in a multi-campus environment.
Monitor flow of patients by hourly rounding, utilizing FirstNet board and communicating with Nursing Supervisor, Radiology, and the Lab
Initial assignment of ED staff to meet the needs of the shift, including room assignment, daily checks, and additional duties as required.
Basic Qualifications
Previous or current teaching experience (or equivalent)
Subject matter competency.
Excellent written and communication skills
Licensure/Certifications
Cert Pediatric Adv Life Supprt
Advanced Cardiac Life Support
Maintains current licensure/certification as required for subject area.
