Job Description:
The Childrenâs Hospital of Philadelphia Research Institute is an interdisciplinary institution dedicated to conducting basic, clinical and translational research on conditions and diseases that affect children is seeking a R! esearch Assistant/Phlebotomist.
Job Summary: The Research Phlebotomist independently screens and consents subjects for entry into the required protocol.
The Research Phlebotomist must frequently interact with the Physician Investigators and report on the conduct of the assigned protocol.
The Research Phlebotomist collects and maintains clinical research data and obtains the required specimens from patients. Will also have daily contact with other physicians, nurses, patients and their families. Will maintain knowledge of appropriate computer systems and enter data into study databases.
REQUIREMENTS
Graduate from a high school or GED.
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
Medical Assistant Certificate required
Phlebotomy certification required
Minimum of one year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
Pediatric experience preferred.
Demonstrated interest in medical research.
General knowledge of PC-based spreadsheet and database sof! tware (Microsoft Excel and Access)
Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to function as part of a team to meet the general needs of the organization within the uniform and job specific standards as outlined herein.
