  • Successful completion of the Registered Respiratory Th! erapist (RRT) examination, administered by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Successful completion of the Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist (NPS) examination, administered by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • A valid license to practice respiratory care in Pennsylvania.
  • A current Basic Life Support certification.
  • A current Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification, or Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • A minimum of five years experience in the field of respiratory care.
  • A minimum of three years experience in the care of neonatal/pediatric patients.
  • Successfully achieved Respiratory Therapist â€" Level 4, if applicable.
All CHOP employees who work in a patient building or who provide patient care are required to receive an annual influenza vaccine unless they are granted a ! medical or religious exemption.

Job Description:
The Clinical Respiratory Specialist practices at the level of a proficient to expert practitioner of respiratory care. The Clinical Respiratory Specialist at this level demonstrates expertise in caring for patients with multiple and complex problems. In addition to demonstrating clinical leadership, the Clinical Respiratory Specialist serves as a resource and consultant to staff and participates in endeavors to increase respiratory care knowledge.
